24th Annual ARC Industry Forum
Despite some early false starts and shaky implementations, digital transformation is now beginning to provide real advantages in plants, factories, infrastructure, and municipalities all around the world, according to several end-user presentations at the 24th annual ARC Industry Forum.
This year, the Forum started off with a relaxed Super Bowl party on Sunday evening. On Monday, we had a full day of cybersecurity and other workshops, followed by the annual meeting of the Digital Transformation Council (DTC). Several suppliers also made some very interesting press announcements. The theme of this year’s Forum “Driving Digital Transformation in Industry and Cities” was well-received by participants; many end users are planning or already working to transform their organizations with data and new digital technologies.
On Tuesday, ARC Advisory Group’s senior analyst Harry Forbes summed up the day by the numbers: over 850 participants from 20 countries, including 250 distinct firms, and 55 sessions and workshops covering six separate topical tracks. Harry also pointedly mentioned and thanked the Forum’s 75 corporate and media sponsors who help to make this yearly gathering a success. Our Platinum sponsor was Microsoft, and our Global Sponsors were Bentley and Siemens. We also had an extensive list of other sponsors that included some of the best technology suppliers from the OT, ET, and IT industries as well as several cybersecurity suppliers.
