Aerospace Tech Week 2022

Aerospace requirements engineering is a process that helps identify and define the needs of a customer or stakeholder for a product or service. Requirements management is essential for aerospace projects, as it can help prevent problems and ensure the utmost safety and reliability.

The Aerospace Tech Week Americas, now in its fourth year, took place from 8-9th November 2022 in Atlanta, USA. The American Aerospace Tech Week is an open opportunity for professionals from all over Europe, North, Central, and South America

The biennial events give a look at the most recent aviation technology breakthroughs (air-to-ground and nose-to-tail), IoT, big data, airline e-enablement, flight operation software, fuel efficiency, weather data, MRO software, digital transformation, AI, M2M, regulatory, policy, technical SES and next-generation challenges for avionics, plus the testing systems that are used in the design, construction, and maintenance of all commercial and military aircraft (both hardware and software).

As we all know, the COVID-19 effect on the world is dramatic, and the IoT sector has not been immune. The economic repercussions are certainly the most apparent, but there are also changes in organizational behavior, employee availability and hiring, working configurations, social interactions, and corporate positioning that can’t be denied.

Henceforth, Jeff Price, Regional Sales Director at Visure Solutions, thoroughly talked about “How COVID-19 has changed the Requirements Engineering Process among embedded companies” in his presentation during the event.

COVID-19 affected people all over the world in ways we could not even imagine before. There were references to a “before” and an “after” COVID-19 period, and certain paradigms shifted for the rest of our lives. It has had a huge impact on how people and businesses worked, and some companies found it hard to transition to a remote working or Work-From-Home-friendly environment. In some cases, it had to be done in less than a week.

At Visure Solutions, Inc., since we are well known for our expertise in Requirements Management and Traceability, we wanted to understand the impacts of COVID-19 were in the Requirements Engineering processes of industrial and avionics companies.

This presentation showed several methods Visure customers and other companies applied for minimizing the impact of COVID-19 in their Requirements Engineering process, and even to improve it during the lockdown periods.

Furthermore, Fernando Valera, CTO at Visure Solutions, also participated in the panel discussion on the topic, “Industry 4.0 in Testing”.

Henceforth, we can say that the event was a huge success!
